young children need more attention so a smaller ratio would benefit all the children with a better success rate overall

The noise level over 25 is incredible. Also consider that many of us have children in these classrooms with extra needs such Sensory Processing Disorder, ADHD, Autism, Anxiety, or still having issues with the bathroom, etc These little ones need ratios to be lower to receive the extra support. No one wins when the ratios are high.

I teach a class of 27, and I sometimes come home and think, "Was so- and-so at school today? He/She was. Oh grief, I didn't even speak to them. Yikes!" This is not how a child learns that they are loved, respected, and valued. This is how they learn that school is not s place for them. It HAS to change!

My daughter is in Kindergarten with 25 other pupils. Daycare has a much smaller ratio for safety reasons and I do not understand why or how teachers are expected to lead a class with that many children.

As an fdk teacher to 30 students (several of which are high needs) i know first hand that 30 is far too many for a safe and equitable learning environment....

Cramming more kids into classrooms is not fair to anyone, including the kids. Why is their ratios set for daycares but not for classrooms? Crazy.

Lets not forget how often our JK/SK children are left with 1 adult while the other staff member is on lunch or duty.

Put a cap in FDK 25 this year and then lower next year.

Even with ECEs in the classroom, class sizes need to be realistic for optimal learning. And it is a great opportunity to hire the many teachers & ECEs out there who need jobs so they can contribute to our economy.

Having observed grandchildren in large classrooms all I can say is wake-up Ministry of Education The writing is on the wall! Smell the coffee! What are you thinking! Really!

my son is in JK and needs more face time with his teacher. These are crucial learning years and if we take a short cut now, it will have long term effects on our children.

These little people need so much emotional and social support and when there are so many in a room it is difficult to give each child what they truly deserve,not to mention teach a curriculum!!

It is impossible to meet the educational needs of each individual student in class sizes of 25+ for students this young. This makes the situation inequitable. Children will not get the foundation of learning they need and were promised.

1:10 Ration for this age group should be adhered to.....it is irresponsible of the government/school boards to be asking for more and still hold to their claims of wanting to provide better education

HAVING 29 FOUR YEAR OLDS IN A ROOM IS NOT HEALTHY AND DOES NOT PROMOTE LEARNING. IT IS ALL ABOUT CROWD CONTROL.
