Plastic waste is a huge problem in our world. About 300 MILLION tons of plastic is produced each year. Only 10% is recycled and the rest ends up in our landfills or oceans. Plastic takes up to thousands of years to decompose. Amazon, one of the biggest companies in the world, uses plastic packaging in almost all 608 million packages it ships each year. Our goal is for Amazon to begin to use packaging made of biodegradable material such as starch based polymers.

The momentum behind this campaign is picking up speed because you refuse to accept plastic waste as the status quo. Now is the time to turn this energy into action by emailing your local representative and demanding they press Amazon for biodegradable alternatives.

I rely on Amazon grocery delivery because of COVID and it breaks my heart every time I see the plastic bags they put every item in. It is unnecessary to package most of the items in individual plastic bags. I hope they adopt better alternatives. I use composting bags that break down in my compost pile in a couple of months! I would want to see something like that used for grocery packaging.
Please reduce single use plastic. Consider biodegradable packaging. Less is more. We can't afford to have our oceans and planet poisoned and choked by plastic. Even when recycled, it lasts over 200 years. Glass and aluminum is a good alternative for bottling. Thank you.
Every time I open a box there is just so much bubble wrap and air cushions. Most of it goes right in the trash cause my local center doesnt take that film. Please fix this.
Ridiculous amount of waste. Do better Amazon.
A company like Amazon would only benefit from this petition, so why not sign it.

Hi Amazon, Needless to say we all know what a big problem Plastic Pollution is. And very few being reused and or recycled. As your customer, I request you to either find a way for us to send you back the plastic packagings we have received from you, so that you can reuse and or recycle them. Or use zero-waste, plastic free packaging. I hope to see these changes happening as quickly as possible. Thank you for making eco friendly products available for us to buy on your platform.
