Hello I’m Laurel Jeans current resident in Laceys Springs AL. I am coming to the people today to call for help. I’m trying my hardest to come up with a petition to help get a red light put in front of our street and remove passing lines! It is very much needed. Just in the short time that I have lived here I’ve experienced multiple crashes and wreaks. Far more worse than others, I fear that it is going to cause a horrific wreak that nobody wants to witness if something is not done. With 36 being a frequently used Highway the speed limit and is 55. Where I am located their are two streets going across from one another one being a cove the other a dead end. With my road being a cove traffic is pretty heavy. With that being said the Highway itself is pretty packed and their is a hill to the right and a curve to the left. Now in that stretch the Highway is passable meaning you can pass cars. With their not only being a hill but also a curve ahead I feel their is no need for passing lines. I have witnessed people passing multiple cars, speeding, and worst of all wreaks. People tend to speed down the hill to pass others “because of passing line” and you have someone turning onto my road and boom crash. I feel it would be safer and much more effective if their was a light and no passing lines. Thank you for your time.
