Petition to reconsider the closing of the only grocery store located on the south side of Springfield. The result of closing the Kroger on S. Limestone will leave residents with limited access to affordable and nutritious food. We the undersigned, are concerned citizens who urge our community leaders to act now to avoid a food desert on the south side of Springfield.
This Kroger is necessary for residents who have low income or no transportation to another place. If it wasn't here, there would only be a Family Dollar nearby. People should be entitled to produce, which Family Dollar does not carry, among other things.

This store serves not only Springfield, but also Cedarville. It's where we shop. Closing the store leaves thousands of people, many elderly, without a place to buy groceries. Please keep this location open.

You keep building and redoing stores in AFFLUENT areas....don't tell me you're not making money on them. This area NEEDS this store; you can afford to keep it open. Boycotting until you do.

My parents use this store at least once a week! They are over 60 years old and having to drive across town to the competing stores would be absolutely ridiculous. I’ve been going to that location since I was a kid, it’s a staple part of the community!
