Eric Reames began working at Miramonte High School at the beginning of January 2014 as a Learning Skills Teacher. When the previous instructor, Ricki Oleon, retired just before winter break, Reames stepped in and made sure to continue her teaching methods. He helps with homework, runs meetings for kids in resource, and stays on top of his students to make sure their work ethic is above average. Reames is also always there to listen to his students, and they feel safe going to him for advice, a friend, or even just a chat. Many students in his classes agree that he understands them and he is trustworthy as well as perfect for the job.

Sadly, Reames has been denied for returning for the 2014-2015 school year, and administration had not asked for students, teachers, or parents' say in what they want for the pupils in the coming years.

By signing this petition, you are requesting to have Reames' be reevaluated such that administration will listen to those who will be working alongside him.

Thank you for your time.

Updates

May 24, 2014

The administration remains silent regarding our requests for a formal meeting. We are currently preparing a comprehensive summary of student testimonials to present to the school board.

May 24, 2014

The momentum generated by this petition reflects the genuine impact Eric Reames has had on our school community. I am encouraged to see such widespread recognition of his dedication to his students. This level of support ensures that the administration must acknowledge the importance of his presence at Miramonte.

Really hope the district would change their decision in not wanting him. Because he's such a helpful teacher and its awesome how he improves not only my grades but others too! Without him here helping us I feel like were going to fail in school.

I haven't worked with Mr. Reamed myself, but I know friends and classmates that have had him and loved him. He seems like a positive influence on the kids

Mr. Reames assists in my 7th period English class and helps to increase the accessibility of the books we are reading. If someone wants to read out loud, one can go with Mr. Reames. He will haelp that person understand the book better. He helps anyone who wants help, not just his own students.

Mr.Reames is very helpful and loving to all of his resources students and improves our grades within months! He's not only a teacher to us, but also a friend to us. Its disappointing to hear that he's no longer going to teach us for the next 3 years.

Restarting a career is hard especially when he had motivated many students.
