The feedback from teachers has been exhausting to read because it highlights just how much is at stake for our students. I have been spending my nights gathering documentation to present to the board even though they have not acknowledged our messages yet.

Reaching this level of support shows that people truly understand how much these children need this program. It has been an exhausting road so far but seeing this momentum keeps me moving forward.

One hundred people have signed on to keep this program alive. It is exhausting to fight for resources that should be guaranteed but seeing these names gives me the grit to keep going.

The academic, emotional and social impact of Reading Recovery is truly profound and life-changing for the lowest achieving students. Reading Recovery can change the entire culture of a school from flat to dynamic. This is a must for Warwick and all of Rhode Island.

If we care about children's self esteem and ability to make educated choices in life, we need to provide Reading Recovery to those who have a more difficult time with literacy. No other intervention rates as highly.... waiting til children fail is an injustice !

Reading Recovery is the best early intervention with a proven track record and research base. Anyone concerned with financial savings must consider the long-term costs of years of remediation vs. the short-term costs of support in Reading Recovery.

This program is excellent and works well, why would you eliminate this? Especially in favor of a cheaper program that doesn't have nearly the success rate? Please, the kids are going through enough transitions... Leave this alone. It WORKS! Stop trying to cheapen education.

If it wasn't for reading recovery and my sons amazing reading teacher in first grade(Mrs. Eaton) my son and I would still be struggling. It is a great program and it saddens me to see it even being a thought to take it away from these kids

My son had reading recovery for just over a year and is now reading above grade level! He is reading for pleasure for the first time in his life. This program works and it makes no sense to replace it with something that is not as successful.

Without Reading Recovery your first graders will end up in costly remediation services throughout their schooling. Why get rid of the most effective short-term intervention that has brought the gift of literacy to millions of first graders?
