Without Reading Recovery your first graders will end up in costly remediation services throughout their schooling. Why get rid of the most effective short-term intervention that has brought the gift of literacy to millions of first graders?

Reading Recovery is good for kids. There is extensive research that cites how valuable it is for our children. It must be put back in the budget and continued in Warwick Schools!

Reading Recovery changes non-readers into readers everyday! Every child deserves the chance to learn to read. For many struggling readers Reading Recovery may be their only chance to catch up to their peers. Don't take their chance away!

Please save this program. It is absolutely a wonderful program for struggling readers. It is researched based and shows the tremendous growth in most Reading Recovery students.

Reading Recovery is a researched based program that works for struggling readers and writers in 1st grade. This is a program that should be a part of the nation's education systems not a grant. This program is exciting to our young students. They enjoy, blossom, engage, and light up. This program is such a confidence builder and it needs to stay in Rhode Island. Thank you

Reading Recovery Works! My son had Reading Recovery intervention in 1st grade. He is in 5th grade now. Yesterday report cards came home and he maintains a B+ average in reading and on STARR testing he scored ABOVE AVERAGE and is reading at an 8th grade level! I have always felt if he didn't have this program he would still struggle with reading.

Reading Recovery has received the highest marks by the What's Working Clearinghouse of the USDE. No other early literacy intervention compares.

I've seen nothing but positive outcomes from this program! It was be a huge loss to school systems and most importantly students if they were to remove this program.

As a 1st grade classroom teacher I am aware of the importance of reading instruction in the early grades and of the struggles that face many students in this area. Over my 28 years of teaching, both in the special Ed. and gen. Ed. settings I have seen, used, and been trained in a number of instructional programs. By far Reading Recovery offers the best intervention for struggling readers. I have benefited and thus my students from working with our Reading Recovery teacher and from sitting in on Reading Recovery sessions. Do not drop this amazing program!
