This petition is a call to action for the local RCMP, SAR, and Municipal MLA’s/MP’s to increase funding & resources for to resume search efforts for Jim Barnes & Murphy. After another young man who went missing around the same time as Jim was rescued alive in northern BC on November 26th, 2024. This young man survived over 50 days out in the wilderness, and had similar bush experience like Jim does.
We, the members of the public, recognize the demand for urgent action to bring these two home alive. Please consider allocating additional resources to expand upon previous search perimeters to assist uncovering additional information to help locate Jim & Murphy.
Let us not lose hope, miracles do happen, and Jim’s loved ones deserve closure.

They're are funds left over from the go-fund me for the young man that miraculously was found a few days ago!! On the news they hadn't yet decided what to do with the leftover funds and this would be good to help find Jim
With the advent of the other lost hiker showing up on a road , 50 days later, surely this gives hope for Jim as a survivalist, especially when his dog returned as hope to send out appropriate search teams and methods.
This search was stopped too soon. Let's get going again, and not only find Jim, but find out how things can be done better. Many of us sent letters to our MP's to have the search for Martin Hartwell reopened. It was and Martin was found alive after a month.
If it is a matter of not having enough trained SARS volunteers I’m willing to blanket social media for a request for volunteers and also donations if need be. Surely if we have the right tech and people we can also start being preventative.
Jim’s dog Murphy has showed up a great distance from where Jim’s truck was found, with Murphy being found I believe we need to get another search party in there before the weather changes the scents . This new area needs to be investigated for sure.

Absolutely agree with a further search. The rules around further searching and a search being called off so early such as this case and the other of the fellow that was just found after 5 long weeks is absolutely astounding.
