I thank the Rainier Hotel and PHS for providing a community that my daughter was welcome to be part of the family they provided
I've had personal experience with the programmes and people of the Rainier and PHS in my work as a community based artist. The work they do needs to be supported and funded. Please do. Sincerely, Vanessa Richards, MPhil Woodward's Community Singers, Director
There is a dire need for this type of small-scale compassionate program in the DTES. It is horrible that such a successful program receives no funding when there are gross inefficiencies in so many other large government programs.
Services like the Rainier Hotel are crucial to the well being of our community. Ensuring that Vancouver's most vulnerable and marginalized women have their basic needs met and opportunities to thrive promotes the community's safety and well-being.
This program has proven to work and it's likely cheaper (not to mention much more humane) to fund it properly than it is to pay for the extra emergency services the lack of such a program will force the women to use. Please fund it!
Women specific programs need to be funded.. You heal and empower women... And then they heal and empower communities...
I fully, completely support this project and it's effort to help women who may have never been given a chance otherwise.

Such a critical service as this should be given core funding. They shouldn't have to scramble for necessary funding year in and year out,
