The minimum wage should be increased at least to historical highs. For example, the minimum wage in 1968 would be worth over $10/hour in today's money. Minimum wage should increase in the future to keep up with cost of living increase for poverty stricken individuals.
The minimum wage for tipped workers specifically must be raised. It needs to at least meet historical levels of 60% of the federal minimum wage.
We must eliminate outdated loopholes that exclude deserving people from receiving minimum wage.
