I am in favour of a Multi-user group RAIL TRAIL including HORSES

I think the cycling community needs to get off their" high horse" and learn to share. Horses are a natural beauty that enhance the lives of many young and old.

I think horses should be able to use this as well

I don't see where the problem would be allowing horses or dogs on the rail trail. There are many trails in Lake Country, Kelowna and Vernon that share the trails with hikers, bikers and horses. The rail trail is wide enough for everyone to enjoy. Most roads are too dangerous to ride horses on today. After reading Castanet article from June 29th I feel an announcement that horses will be allowed on the trail would surly add donations that would then be match by the generous benefactor as described in the article.

No, horses are too unpredictable, it's only a matter of time when the horse will get spooked and the rider will lose control. On a tight trail, someone is bound to be run over and seriously hurt. Also the rest of the public is left to zlg zag around the mountains of horse crap.

Absolutely not. Horses and bicycles don't mix. Bad combination for this trail. Besides, horse owners never pick up after their animals where as dog owners are expected to. The Green Way is a typical example of that.

Yes! Horses and dogs should be allowed on the Rail Trail! Many hiking trails around Kelowna are inaccessible to horses and it would greatly help the horse community.

Yes to non-motorized use of all kinds on the Rail to Trail. Before the Iron Horse, the trail in the Okanagan led to survival and trade and prosperity and ALL were packed and led on horseback. This is a legacy in our rural communities and should be protected through access to trails like this one.

Horses have been around a lot longer than bicycles and have the right to use the trails. And common courtesy by all will solve most situations.

I think horse back is a great way to be outdoors, it's fun, therapeutic and should be able to have the same courtesy as any outdoor activity.
