A great and necessary idea. The roads are not safe for horses even in obvious horse communities, with signs posted to signify "Horse and rider" In the Ellsion area, especially on Teather road drag strip, there are very few who slow down for horse and rider.. The norm is to speed up to pass the horse and rider, to get ahead of the oncoming vehicle to avoid slowing down at all. Signs are posted, to no avail, even though this is an obvious agricultural community, there is a majority complete disregard for the horse and rider safety. I equate it to racing down your street while your dog, cat, and or child is playing on your street or curbside. Our children, sisters, brothers, also happen to be on our streets, or curbside, simply with a larger animal. If we were to race at double the speed limit down your street I am sure you would be equally concerned. If a trail access is allowed for humans, horses, and bicycles, it is equally important to respect the fact a live animal can be spooked and toss a rider if approach is not accomplished with respect for other trail users. Equally if other users should not litter, a horse rider should take the time to remove horse nugget offerings from the trail, it is good fertilizer off to the side, not under foot or bicycle tire. We share in the tax burden equally, we should share in the benefit to enjoy our communities equally without fear of that freedom being abused.

I am a strong proponent of keeping our Valley Equine Friendly. Although horse plop is "cleaner" than dog poo, the horse riding community should present a waste management proposal for the pathway.

This concept works in many other cities, including ones in which I have lived, so I'm all for it! Currently, Kelowna has very limited access to horse trails (none at all in our neighbourhood and we don't have a horse trailer, so dangerous roads are our only option). Please allow horses to use the trail like everyone else!

We can all respectfully and successfully use this fabulous trail.
I would love to see horses on the trail... as long as they "clean up" after ... just as you would your dog!

We've urbanized everything around our outdoor spaces with no regard for the equine riders. It's give and give alike.

I currently do not own a horse, but strongly believe that the Rail Trail should be open to horses & riders. I spend a lot of time on the Mission Greenway & it is not the horses the cause the problems, riders are always very courteous to walkers/hikers. Can not always say the same for cyclists

As long as everyone including cyclists are mindful and respectful of 'right aways' . I vote for horse owners to share the Rail Trail.

The more we share the trails, the more access we all have to BC back country and linear trails. Just as we share the roads with all kinds of drivers and vehicles, it is possible to share our trails.

Please allow horses on the rail trail. I am a cyclist and can only imagine how amazing this trail would be for both cyclists and horses.
