Please allow horse and rider on trail system.

All trails should be open to horses. And they they should reflect that in their construction. Clearly the RDCO has never even considered this. If the trails had one side for the optional use of pedestrians and cyclists, and the other side for horses with good proper footing for horses, then that should prevent any problems. Riders and their horses do not like gravel, hard packed terrain and would absolutely stay on a soft dirt/hogfuel path and not stray to the other side. Many people prefer softer ground to walk on as do their dogs. However, if they are offended by horse manure, they can just stay on their own side of the trail. Sounds like a no brainer to me. We all pay our taxes. I don't see any public horse parks in the Okanagan. However I see parks for every other activity. It is time that the RDCO figured this out. The horse community would be happy to oblige with any suggestions as they know far more about their needs than you do.

I am a horse owner, run a boarding stable and compete locally. As well as ride several local and non local trails. Horses should have a right to share along with cyclists, walkers joggers, etc.

Yes, please allow horses on this trail. Equestrians bring money and will come from all over to ride this lovely place. See how much money the horse industry brings to the Fraser Valley.

Please seriously consider. There are precious few trails for horses that people can access without having to travel long distances.

We are in desperate NEED of horse trails in the Okanagan. The lower mainland has Campbell Valley Park. It has designated equestrian trails, designated walking trails, designated biking trails. Campbell Valley is an amazing park. It makes no sense that there are no designated equestrian trails in Kelowna!!! Vancouver's Southlands has equestrian trails up through UBC. This is really a no brainer!

Making this trail available for equine activity will attract riders from all over North America. This will be a tremendous economic expansion.

yes i think horses should be alowed on the trail, i read a lot of stupid comments on why they shouldnt , and i think people are not giving horse owners enough credit to k ow if there horse is safe enough to be in that type of enviroment or not , i cant speak for every one but i think most horse people would only ride their most safest horse , and yes things happen but im sure it would be minamal in conparison to what some people seem to think , and if the horses have a side to be on , perhaps people should stay on their side and they wouldnt have to worie bout steping in something.

I'm not a rider, and I don't have any interest in horses, but I feel that the Rail Trail should include horses and their riders. Much like some bicyclist enjoy travelling long distances (such as a day trip from Kelowna to Vernon and back), horseback riders would also like to do the same thing. It is impossible for them to ride on regular roads because of the traffic. The Rail Trail would be perfect for them. The Okanagan has a long tradition of horseback riding, let's keep the tradition alive. Please allow riders the same privilege as hikers and bicycles and let's share the great resource that has been provided to the people of the Okanagan.

I support horses to be allowed on these trails. At the very least, for a trial basis. Post rules and monitor traffic, waste, etc. I believe that most of the nay-sayers will be silenced. Many public trails in North America support horses and do not have issues, why are we creating one here?
