Recently the Brisbane City Council (BCC) has placed white parking boxes in the motorcycle parking area.
Not only are the spaces too small for larger cruiser bikes, but the capacity of the area has been significantly reduced from the previous ~150 spots.
No alternative space has been provided to accommodate the reduction of spaces in this area.
Bikes will be forced to take public transport, park illegally causing fines, or park inside QUT's secure parking.
The use of QUT's secure parking by motorcycles would put added stress on a system which constantly runs at full capacity.
The previous method of motorcycle parking at QUT Gardens Point has worked for many years without issues being raised.
The signatures which accompany this petition are in support of restoring the parking area to its previous state.
