We the undersigned residents of Quick, B.C., and beyond, request that the Quick Bridge, a two span Howe Truss, be repaired and maintained in its present form.

In addition to this bridge being one of the few remaining "historic landmarks", it has undergone significant and costly structural repairs (mainly by Yellowhead Road and Bridge in 1991.) The objective was to extend the life of the bridge at a reduced load limit.

Access to the Quick Bridge, on both sides of the river, is via rural residential roads, not suitable for heavy industrial traffic. With a number of residences in close proximity to the roadway, safety remains a concern.

The Telkwa-Walcott FSR (Lawson Road) was transferred to the Ministry of Transportation and Highways in 1990 and is now being upgraded. We agree that this road is the most suitable long term access for heavy industrial traffic on the southwest side of the river. Considering the above, the cost of removal and replacement of the Quick Bridge appears questionable.
