So who will take in the Son of God? The Abundant Life Church & Mission Center. The Menominee Christmas Nativity will be proudly (and lawfully) displayed, coming over the bridge for all to see. River Cities Habitat for Humanity is going to help build an exhibit and there is a fundraiser in the works to raise money for the materials & for the shelter. – (See below)
Today, thousands of years after the birth of Jesus, he is still being ostracized by society and more so now then ever. City government moves him out and the homeless shelter takes him in. The savior lays rest amongst the very people he calls us to serve…(pretty powerful stuff.)
The irony is when I started this petition I just wanted to WIN & to show those people in Madison that they are not going to get the satisfaction of feeling victorious, that we will not be bullied! But the reality is in the lesson that’s revealing itself…the deep, PROFOUND message of faith, hope and love. The lord is at work here. It’s BECAUSE OF the Madison group, we will now have an even better display, in a better location, which will reach more people and touch more lives. People of all faiths have already advocated and supported the petition and Christians are coming together for the one reason we have Christmas in the first place – CHRIST. Above all, keep Christ in CHRISTmas.

We just hit one thousand signatures and my heart is truly full. Seeing so many people join this effort reminds me that our community values these traditions more than some city officials might think.

Seeing the nativity find a home at the shelter has changed how I view this entire fight. My initial anger has settled into a quiet realization that this movement is about so much more than a display in a park.

Friends, as we protest this misguided act, let us remember that the one who is no longer represented in the bandshell should be represented by us. Let us "protest" with a loving attitude towards those with which we disagree. Bullies need angry outbursts, we do not.
Put nativity scene back! I'm offended it's not there! Why does that not matter? Only if a person is offended it's there, it gets taken away? What about the people who are offended that it's not there? Why don't our rights matter?
I grew up in Menominee and moved away when I went to college. This is a favorite childhood memory and use to drive by whenever I was back home. Put it back up, this is what this time of year is all about. If you don't like don't look at it.
I do not understand the reasoning here. What about the opinion of the Menominee residents? The nativity has become a tradition in the bandshell. I am sure if other religions wanted to display something, room could be made. Ask the LOCAL people what they want.
The Nativity has been there for years, it is part of our beautiful marina in the winter. In the summer we have beautiful boats. Will someone complain about that and make them be gone too? CHRIST is the reason for the season. Put the Nativity scene back up.
Why should a small town have to take marching orders from an out-of-state group? Please sign if you read this. Thanks!

This is a shame Menominee. I grew up in the area and as a family we always went and saw the Natvity scene every year. Why does everyone else's concerns matter but the Christian.s we are people too. Please come to your senses and display the Nativity scene back up please.
