The council finally voted to scrap the pump park project and keep the land as it is. I am incredibly relieved that our quiet neighborhood will remain safe and undisturbed. Thank you for sticking with me while we protected this space for our community.

Final supporters
Your new neighbors of the borough wish for the Malvern Borough Council to eliminate the proposed pump park or to find an alternate location for it to be placed. Please support us in agreeing that the money to be spent on a pump park could be used in other ways.
A few key reasons to eliminate the pump park:
Unsafe location with no parking located by the fire department- infringes on emergency access road
Displacement of wildlife and destruction of natural habitat
Noise pollution
Added responsibility of police department
infringes on surrounded private property
Ongoing maintenance costs to the borough
Potential lawsuit liability
The list can continue on. Many neighbors have voiced their concerns. The concerns were presented to the council via numerous emails, a zoom meeting and the February 2nd council meeting. The council has largely ignored these concerns and continued to move forward with their costly proposed plan.

Seeing two hundred and fifty neighbors join this fight feels like such a massive relief for our quiet street. I am truly overwhelmed that so many of you see the dangers of putting this park right next to the fire station.

The council continues to push forward despite the clear safety concerns we have raised about the fire department access road. We are gathering documentation to show just how much this project threatens our neighborhood quiet and our local wildlife. Please keep watching this space because we are preparing to take our case back to the council chamber.

The borough does not need the liability associated with this pump park. There are much more pressing issues to address. Located right next to the fire station is an accident just waiting to happen.
Pump Parks are known to be unsupervised and promote the congregation of kids engaging in other activities aside from just biking. They can bring in many other issues such as loitering, unwanted alcohol and drug problems. Pump parks also put a greater burden on law enforcement. Thanks for listening.
This would be right in my front yard (I live right on Ruthland) and we do NOT want this added to our street. There is already more than enough traffic going up and down the rude due to the new shops and restaurants on King st. Please find another location. Great idea. Terrible location.
I agree that the money could be better spent by funding small businesses and restaurants in the borough! My family has lived in the borough for 82 years and we've never missed having a pump park:-)
This is not for the benefit of the community, this is for the benefit of a few select individuals. It will also encourage folks from outside the borough to come in and use it. The liability is too great.
Too much building!
We need the woods. It's not a good place for a dirt bike path - not safe for the bikers nor environmentally sound.

Please reconsider this plan. Razing the final bit of natural habitat is short-sighted and counter-productive. Natural lands are the best thing a municipality can have to aid in storm-water management. Protecting this acre will pay dividends to the residents of Malvern now and for future generations.
