This is a petition to the Cork County Board to once and for all sort out the serious health and safety issues associated with Pairc Ui Chaoimh. Issue number one: The fences behind the goals. These must be removed IMMEDIATELY. As seen in 2008 when hundreds of fans had to be allowed onto the pitch due to crushing. This is an accident waiting to happen. Will it take a death to sort this out Issue Number two: Turnstiles More turnstiles must be installed ASAP. As seen in 2009 at Cork Vs Kerry. Throw In delayed. Chaos outside the stadium. Could well lead to crushing and serious injury. Issue Number three: Stewards There are far too few stewards in attendance. Those that are there tend to stand back and watch the chaos unfold before them and are not sure what to do. Issue Number four: Ticket pick up points are inadequate, toilet facilities are poor, food facilities are terrible. The stadium and the organisation should not be allowed to hold major events until all these issues are sorted. It is extremely possible that a member of the public will get seriously injured or maybe even worse.
