This officer was not hired to enforce the Bible, neither was he asked to do so. It is entirely reasonable to wonder how he will treat citizens of whom he disapproves in his daily work as a peace officer.

The corruption of Mike Winters knows no bounds. Old Mississippi style injustice is alive & well in Jackson County Oregon. The Holy Father recently said to accept and embrace. The under-educated here, would do well to learn that JUSTICE is for everyone, equally.

its time for our communities to feel held by our police and not afraid or intimidate by them. I ask you to have this man write an apology. Our police departments are meant to uphold all citizens, not condemn them. These people who step into these offices are required to lean past these types of judgments and their superiors should take a stand and expect and lead this by example. Thank you!

Personal religious beliefs can impact the way you vote, but not the way laws are written and enforced. Separation of church and state means something. I am also a public employee, and we must be very careful to always interact with the public in ways that do not harm our constituency.

Equal rights for everyone in the face of the justice system is imperative for a successful democracy. You are an official of the state, the state cannot differentiate between people based on race, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity or age. Your job is to uphold the law, if you'd rather spout off on your personal beliefs, do not accept the tax dollars of all the citizens you are supposed to serve.
