I support resurfacing two tennis courts that are currently in poor condition at Sellwood Park and converting them to public Pickleball courts in memory of an avid Pickleball player who died in April 2018. A memorial fund in honor of Loretta Gallivan is being established. Total cost for resurfacing and future maintenance will be provided by the fund. No tax money is required.
Pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports in the nation and one that can be played by all ages, particularly kids and senior citizens. Please give us your support and come play Pickleball! Thank you.

I live in the Sellwood neighborhood and love the game of pickleball. I've played competitive tennis for the past 15+ years and I'm ready to change it up and become an avid pickleball player.
We play at Sellwood all the time on a tennis court. It would be nice to play in a space without having to tape lines up ourselves.
These courts would be a great addition to the community and bring much enjoyment and participation. A similar project at Max Patterson in Gladstone has resulted in over 80 people playing regularly there in the first month after the courts opened
I have no idea what Pickleball is, but love the idea of using public resources for a pure Portland, homegrown activity that honors a local hero.
In the same space that 4 tennis players need, Pickleball can have 12 play. Don’t see too many seniors over 65 playing tennis yet many of this age group play pickle ball
This is an awesome project!

There is a need for these courts in my community of Sellwood. I now have to drive to Gladstone to play. The city of Portland should take this project serious.
