This is a no brainer. Open it up to the public and charge a fee to use the ramp. Easy money maker.

If you look look at other reservoirs within the county there is no public access. This is travesty .

Chesterfield County residents should absolutely have access to this lake! I live nearby and would love a public boat ramp and maybe a lake side park.

The county owns the water, the county owns access points, citizens should be able to freely enjoy the public reservoir. People want access to the water, not the land underneath. A real estate law analyst to determine if the riparian rights trump/overrule the underlying land ownership concerns.

Don't let a few bad apples spoil it for everyone. Perhaps a county provided ramp, with trash cans and lighting, would help solve the trash issue. It is a shame and hopefully we can fix it. I don't recall seeing the trash problem at Chesdin...

I have already signed this petition, but am having second thoughts about it. I am a volunteer for the Chesterfield Co. anti-litter program & do clean up water front areas on the Swift Creek Reservoir that are currently used unofficially by fisherman. It is totally disgusting to see the volumes of trash that are continually left in these beautiful waterfront areas. I prefer to take my name off of this petition, rather than see this trash problem probably get worse.

Give us access. I fished there in the 70s & 80s and YES spent time picking up trash that others (non-fishermen) left behind! Do the right thing and consider this.

A simple boat ramp on the acreage the county owns would solve the problem. Chesterfield County is OUR county and as tax payers WE helped Chesterfield have the $ to buy "several acres of land" at Swift Creek reservoir! Time for the county to give back to US!

As a Brandermill resident, I hate the signs that say "residents only." Seems elitist to me. Paying for the upkeep of the pools makes sense. The parks and access points should be public in my opinion.

This reservoir should be open for public access and maintained by Chesterfield County as a public park, given it is a publicly funded water supply. I understand property owners in Brandermill and Woodlake argue that the public will not respect the land and damage the area. But give every resident the opportunity to make unforgettable memories with their friends and families enjoying time together on the water. The reservoir will become a treasure that more people feel invested in preserving and protecting.

Since the residents around the reservoir do not maintain this taxpayer funded body of water they should not be able to control access. The county needs to do the right thing and build a couple public access ramps with parking.
