I am signing this petition because I want the abandoned tennis courts at Pocahontas Middle School to be turned into a skate park for the use of the youth and adults in Powhatan.

I am currently compiling the feedback regarding the potential transformation of the tennis courts into a dedicated skating facility. Conversations with local stakeholders are ongoing as we explore the viability of this project.

The momentum surrounding our proposal for the Pocahontas Middle School site has grown significantly. This level of interest affirms that our community sees the potential for these abandoned courts to serve a new purpose.

I would love for this happen we spend a lot of time in Goochland county at the skate park. Would be great to have a place for the kids to skate in Powhatan.
Powhatan is very sports centric with a lot of community support. Let's keep this momentum going by adding to our sports opportunities with a skate park. It is a sport that doesn't have a financial barrier to entry. Currently we have very few barrier free sports options for kids in Powhatan.

This endeavor would bring about some really positives changes in the area. Skateboarding continues to be an inflential part of my life. It has taught me valuable lessons, molding the fabric of my being. I truly hope a project like this is a success and that other young kids and students may find a way to express themselves through this form of art. This is the start of something special.
My son has to go to other counties to skate!
This would be a fantastic idea for adults and youth who enjoy the sport of skateboarding. Creating a safe place for our kids to enjoy the sport is paramount.
This would be an awesome edition to the ever growing Powhatan county. Kids absolutely need something to do!!

I think this would be a great use of this current “dead space” and give many kids (and adults!) a safe place to skate and hang out together.
