I am honestly a bit overwhelmed by how many of you stepped up to support this skate park. This momentum belongs entirely to the community members who took the time to show they care.

There should be a skate park in town, I only wish there was one when I was growing up. We had to travel to Altoona Pittsburgh or wherever to have fun.
I no longer skate however I think a skatepark at the park is a great idea! Kids in our area who skate need a place where they can skate safely, have fun and stay out of trouble.
I think it would be wonderful to have a skate park in the Cumberland also some benches for people to sit and watch the activity. There is little to nothing for the youth or younger people to do in this community. It would also be a free activity which should bring people more together.
I'm a Garrett County native. If only there would've been a skatepark in Cumberland when I was growing up, I would've stayed out of so much trouble. It's even more important today to give the youth more opportunities to get outside and exercise. I'm not over the hill yet. If it's built, I'll be sure to stop through a couple of times a month for a few runs.
They've been asking for it for 30 years!... Tennis courts... Basketball courts... Baseball/softball fields... BMX track... WHY NO SKATEPARK?! It's time to quit ignoring it & just build it!
I was looking for a skate park for so long I would love one so close.
Give the kids something to do outside away fron video games.

Although it isn't the great revenue-builder our politicians get eager about, I think this has the potential to keep kids engaged in physical activity and keep them "busy" building a fun skill! Therefore, I think this is a great investment in our community.
