The legislature officially dropped the proposal to dismantle our pensions today. I am worn out from the fight but deeply grateful to the 7,069 of you who refused to back down. Let this be a sign that we must stay vigilant because they might try this again later.

Support public employee pensions in PA

The PA General Assembly soon may take up proposals that could make major changes to public employee pensions like PSERS and other systems. Due to a number of factors, primarily severe stock market losses associated with the economic downturn and the state and employers’ failure to adequately contribute to the fund, employers and the state will need to significantly increase payments to public employee pension funds.

Some will attempt to use this crisis to reduce or change public employees' benefits.

Make no mistake about it: they're coming after your retirement fund. Take action and urge legislators to protect public employee pensions.

The emails from people terrified about their futures keep coming in and it is heavy to hold all of these stories. I am exhausted by the constant need to defend what was promised but I am not walking away from this fight.

My wife worked 30 years for the state and played by the rules. Do not touch her retirement.

Typical. Fix the budget by taking it out on the working class. Pathetic.

Ridiculous that they want to cut pensions when they messed up the funding themselves. Leave it alone.

KEEP THE PROMISE. Public servants deserve what they were promised.
