Stratford schools are once again on the chopping block. Due to expected budget shortfalls for the 2011-12 school year, it is possible that one or more schools may be closed.
This will impact ALL schools in our town, as students from closed school(s) will need to be placed somewhere, thus increasing class sizes and impacting the quality of education received by all. It will also hurt the town's ability to attract young families to seek residence here and ultimately jeopardize the value of homes.
As concerned parents, taxpayers and members of the Stratford community at large, we, the undersigned, urge Mayor Harkins, the town council and the Board of Education to fully fund the education budget and KEEP ALL STRATFORD SCHOOLS OPEN!
PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR STREET ADDRESS TO ENSURE YOUR VOTE COUNTS!!

I have been reading through the comments and seeing how many of you fear for your children's classrooms. Rest assured that I am working behind the scenes to secure a direct conversation with the town council about these potential closures.

Seeing this kind of energy for our classrooms leaves me genuinely overwhelmed. My own kids are feeling the anxiety of these potential closures and knowing I am not fighting this alone gives me so much hope.

My kids go to one of the schools on the list and I am terrified about what happens to their class sizes if they shut it down. Keep them open please.
This is so frustrating. My son loves his school and it would break his heart to have to go somewhere else. Leave them alone.
Ridiculous. We already pay enough in taxes. Find the money somewhere else!
Keep them open.
You cant just cram more kids into already crowded rooms. It doesnt make any sense.

STOP CLOSING OUR SCHOOLS. we moved to this town specifically for the schools and this is just gonna ruin the property values for everybody.
