Protect the future of Jefferson County International Airport

FULL DISCLOSURE Speak Truth To Power.

I assumed, this was already mandated. This is a poor area for housing.

Jefferson County airport is a critical rare resource and cannot be negatively impacted or restricted by developments directly inline with the runway 27. Please consider alternative development proposals consistent with maintaining full and current airport use.

Folks who buy property near an existing airport have no right to later complain about noise from the airport. Disclosure by developers/sellers should be a requirement.

This is necessary. On Whidbey Island there were some land owners that didn't know there was a Naval Air Base on the island.

It is critical that the airport and it's continued, un-restricted use, is not hindered in any way by any housing development. Sky Valley Airstrip WA68 is also a long established airstrip and has been used many times for emergency landings for pilots who have encountered problems after takeoff. This airport is registered with the FAA and the flight path is right over the proposed development.

Potential landowners at the proposed development in and around the golf course west of Jefferson County Airport need full disclosure that aircraft noice from departing traffic to the west will be unavoidable and unlikely to be resolved with noise abatement protocols.

Watched this happen in SoCal as well. People need to understand what they are buying into

Something like this needs to happen before every GA airport in the country gets shut down. Now the y are after KLVK again.

This is a very fair and proactive move, to ensure that future residents understand they are near the airport.

As a person who lives adjacent to this proposed development, I can tell you there is frequent air traffic noise, that could disturb noise sensitive individuals.

Subject property is right underneath the final approach to JeffCo’s easterly Runway 9, and less than a mile from the departure end of JeffCo’s westerly Runway 27. In easterly winds, airplanes landing on Runway 9 will/must fly directly overhead, often at 500-700 feet above ground. In westerly winds, airplanes departing on Runway 27 will/must fly directly overhead, often at 500-700 feet above ground, and at full, takeoff power. So, regardless of the winds, the subject property is, for all practical purposes, and at all times, “at the Airport”, and subject to the noise and pollution realities of an airport environment. Regardless of the winds, there will be no extended periods of ‘peace and quiet’. So, if you like airplanes, you’ll be thrilled to have them as your permanent, ‘right next door’, hard to ignore, ‘they were here first’, neighbors. On the other hand... Ken Kellogg

The need for disclosure should go into the CCRs or whatever equivalent this development uses so that future buyers have to be informed too. Maybe by making it something like an easement.

I think this is great. This should be required for all properties anywhere within an airport footprint even up to five miles outside of.

This is a great and necessary way to inform new homeowners that an airport exists and should not be infringed upon after the fact.

Disclosure is the right things to do for all involved. Buyers need to know that noise will be a part of their new home. The airport provides a valuable service to the community. Without disclosure the County will be in the middle of a tug of war well into the future. The County’s time should be spent on other, more important things. Require disclosure.

All potential buyers or investors need full disclosure on the proximity of the airport location and all noise associated with normal flight operations from the airport.

As a pilot and active user of the airport, I am greatly concerned about the future of the airport. I hope the county can take actions that will preserve all current activities at the airport out into the future.

Allowing residential development this close to an existing airport is ridiculous and will only lead to trouble for the residents and disruption of our our aviation infrastructure.
