Protect the future of Jefferson County International Airport

Airports don't "just happen." They require care, feeding, and protection like any other entity. Part of that protection is ensuring compatible land use near airports, especially beneath the extended runway centerlines, where aircraft are flying at low altitudes and under high power settings during departure. While I'm opposed to the construction of residential areas within the high-noise footprint of the airport, if the housing development should be built, all potential buyers must be informed of the airport's presence and the associated noise issues, and all buyers should be required to at least sign a waiver that acknowledges that they're purchasing a house in a high-noise area (or even better, require them to compose a letter in their own words acknowledging the fact).

The airport has been here a long time. Don't move here and expect it to change for you!

Airports like this are vital to both the aviation and local communities. Buyers need to be made aware that they’re moving near an active airport to prevent them from trying to shut it down later under the guise of “I didn’t know it was there”

It is ethical and important that potential buyers of property with in the operational footprint of our essential Jefferson County Airport be informed of unavoidable noise that may be a quality of life issue for them.

The airport is a vital part of the community. I use it for business aviation.

Seems to be a never-ending disregard by developers to eventually sacrifice an airport to make a buck!!! Don't let this happen!!!!

Heck yes. Beautiful place, but the world is built to connect via transportation systems that we the people need to support. We know the benefits.

Don’t move next to an airport and complain about the noise. We need somewhere to takeoff and land!

The airport is a tremendous asset to the entire community and its new neighbors cannot be allowed to curtail its current use.

Residential subdivisions should NOT be allowed to be built adjacent to the airport. Land is better suited for light industrial and business.

Disclosure of existing airport proximity to housing property should always be required in order for an owner to make informed decisions. Critical resources such as regional airports need to be protected.
