We the undersigned respectfully request that President Barack Obama immediately issue a Presidential Proclamation (and request that the members of the United States Congress introduce and ratify an Act of Congress) declaring that “in honor and in memory of the victims of the December 14, 2012, Sandy Hook Elementary School Shooting, Charlotte Bacon (aged 6), Daniel Barden (7), Rachel D’Avino (29), Olivia Engel (6), Josephine Gay (7), Dawn Hochsprung (47), Dylan Hockley (6), Madeleine Hsu (6), Catherine Hubbard (6), Chase Kowalski (7), Jesse Lewis (6), Ana Marquez-Greene (6), James Mattioli (6), Grace McDonnell (6), Anne Marie Murphy (52), Emilie Parker (6), Jack Pinto (6), Noah Pozner (6), Caroline Previdi (6), Jessica Rekos (6), Avielle Richman (6), Lauren Rousseau (30), Mary Sherlack (56), Victoria Soto (27), Benjamin Wheeler (6), and Allison Wyatt (6), and in honor and in memory of children and their protectors everywhere who have been the victims of violence, December 14th shall hereinafter be recognized throughout the United States of America as Protect the Children Day; a day on which Americans everywhere are encouraged to dedicate themselves, and to encourage others to dedicate themselves, to considering ways in which to protect, and to actively engage in protecting, all children everywhere from all forms of violence in every way humanly possible.”

Heartbreaking day. We need to remember these babies and do way more to keep schools safe. Never forget.

About time we did something to honor them. December 14th should def be a day of reflection for the whole country.
