This area serves the community better as a green area, especially when there are so few parks available locally! The Wonderful Barn and the surrounds should be saved!

Enough is enough this building needs to be protected and enhanced, not put a fence around it and left to decay while houses take up the surrounding parklands!

Love this place, would hate to see it swallowed up by a housing developer

This should be developed as an amenity for people in the area. Would be such a shame to lose the area around it to housing.

Ridiculous choice of site for a new housing development!!! It should be zoned as historical and a communal amenities area for the people if leixlip and beyond.

Need to keep this land housing free. The effect on the animal life would it it were to go would be huge

Don't destroy this historical site there is so little green space between that field the m4 and other estates

The site has had planning permission for housing for many years and it is only a matter of time before IT IS built on....... It is a disgrace that the M4 was built THROUGH the Castletown estate cutting off the Wonderful Barn. The time to have any leverage to stop development was when the planning permission was sought for the development of the M4................

Why spend hundreds of thousands restoring it and then only allow a few people enjoy if the build hoses around it. Let all the people see it and make an amine try of it not another housing estate.

A terrible thought that what makes Leixlip/Celbridge/Maynooth great is going to be ruined!! Don't let the wonderful history of these towns be ruined by money grabbing property developers.

The folly is a reminder of the power of creative thinking to solve a problem. Employing local people to build this structure kept people in employment and left a visually powerful legacy for the community. It's a unique and interesting structure built out of philanthropic spirit in a time of need and to redevelop the area for housing debases the intentions of the creator and devalues the labor of the men who built it.
