We, the undersigned parents and concerned citizens of Socastee High School, do hereby petition the administration of SHS to protect all students, staff members and visitors. It is imperative that every person who enters the campus of SHS must go through the already in place metal detector, have their bags checked and if necessary be hand wanded. All of these procedures will insure that our precious children will feel safe, be safe and able to focus on the reason they are in school, their studies!

Random screening does not promote the best practices,nor does it prevent the possibility of something horrific happening as it has happened all over this country!

We stand ready, willing and able to do whatever is necessary to implement these procedures as well as anything to insure everyone’s safety. We are here to help!!!
