The decision to impose these retrictions on private tuition are potentially dicriminatory as some children with additional needs can only cope with 1to1 sessions. Are their needs going to be ignored?? A disgraceful move by the council.

Without Doreen and Elaine's tuition and guidance my 2 kids wouldn't be at the stage they are now. This is an invaluable asset to a lot of parents and as such should be allowed to continue. There are going to be alot of unhappy parents and children if this proposal goes ahead!

why do they always feel that councillors know better and they are always trying to fix something that isn't broken. My kids tried the group lessons they just weren't focussed enough and they weren't progressing. Let these instructors doe their jobs and earn some money.

The fact this has been allowed to go this far is a disgrace, we need to have our private swim lessons back, both 1-2-1 and the private groups, that offered smaller classes, teachers in the water with the kids, and pay as you go instead of booking group lots!

We need to know how and why this decision was taken, and a general clause of "health and safety" or "child protection is not enough. Surely stopping lessons will reduce traffic to the pools and facilities and make them less sustainable??

We are shocked that the council are targeting private swim classes. Ripples Aqua have provided much needed 1-1 lessons in the Downpatrick area, especially important to children and young people with special need. We are devastated that these lessons could be taken away.
