We demand that all police officers in Jackson County allocate two officers to each school in the district in order to potentially prevent, and/or drastically reduce the amount of casualties, in the case of a school shooting.

We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens who urge our leaders to act now to minimize any potential threat, or harm, to our children and all the children of this great community by placing two officers in all our schools.

I think having 2 officers in each school will prevent alot of school shootings. This is what we need right now and we should have done this long Time ago. We need to protect these innocent children that go to school thinking there going to safe place but end up losing there life. Something needs to be done! Please help save some life.

Very thoughtful and well written petition Salem! I agree that stationing police officers at schools will help protect some students. However, I will have to disagree that banning assault weapons should be dismissed. Yes, one can easily get a weapon off the streets, but the majority of the mass shootings in the US are perpetrated by weapons purchased legally. http://nationalpost.com/news/world/mass-shooters-use-loopholes-lapses-in-checks-to-get-guns Let's listen to the parents of those children massacred instead of the NRA and the politicians in their pockets.
