The local planning committee officially rejected the rezoning proposal today. I am moving to monitor the council meeting minutes to ensure this industrial designation remains off the books permanently.

I strongly object to the development of the greeenbelt land it is in complete contradiction of the UK 25 year Environmental Plan. We need this green space for mental health and week being as proven during the COVID pandemic.

The greenbelt should be protected. This land is of much importance to so many people, children, parents, those who are retired. It is very much used and industrial building will spoil both this and the scenery for the local people of Rawtenstall.

I walk down there regularly whatever the weather or season and I love it. Will be devastating, disgusting and wrong in lots of ways to take this off us. Already have had a path blocked when building Screwfix that went from groundwork to the bypass.

This is further unacceptable vandalism by RBC at New Hall Hey and must be resisted. This is green belt, and has a rare apple orchards, interesting sculpture but above all the bridge and land were secured with grants by Groundwork for PUBLIC access.

Let's not build everywhere 'eh? Wildlife needs open spaces, not to mention homo sapiens for mental health... There are industrial areas much better suited. Mayfield Chicks old site Ewood Bridge? The football ground at Ewood Bridge? Road access brilliant at both those sites.

In the light of the loss of a large swathe of green belt land in neighbouring Edenfield, this area is even more important to the local community. There is plenty of commercial and industrial land available nearby with much better access to the road system.

Don’t let another pocket of ‘England’s green and pleasant (green belt) land’ be unnecessarily desecrated.
