So many woods being cleared around us ruining the wildlife habitat. Subdivisions just popping up in the middle of nowhere. Please start developing responsibly and keep our farmland in mind.

Pathetic what is being done allowing so many subdivisions being built in our county! Follow the money to the politicians allowing this!! How much of it is from Zuck Bucks? Easy to believe when you imagine the Republican areas being filled with democrat voters! Politicians are selling out our county, our state & our nation to the far left radicals & big tech!!! Like many of the recommendations I made to the commissioners in the 12 years I served on the zoning board it fell on deaf ears...
Good morning. My name is Bill Seelmann and my wife and I have been residents of Santa Rosa County since 2006. I am coming before you today as both a concerned citizen and a staunch friend and supporter of agriculture in Santa Rosa County.
I had the pleasure of serving on the Zoning and Variance board for Commissioner Salter from 2007 to 2019 in the midst of one of the county’s most rapid growth periods. In that tenure I was, both for and against, party to some very good and some not so good recommendations to the board of county commissioners on zoning issues as defined in the 2004 CLDP.
I have been asked to speak to you on behalf of the agriculture community regarding the up coming changes to the CLDP as it relates to Agriculture, permitted conditional uses of AG land and suggestions on how to preserve the land.
Under the current plan adopted in 2004, two zones were created to buffer and protect agriculture from high density growth and urban sprawl. A transition zone from Berryhill Road north to C/R 182 and an exclusion zone, urban development barrier, north of CR 182 that capped new density at one dwelling an acre.
One of the unsung and most valuable assets the county has is the agricultural land and agriculture industry present in the county. The preservation of farm land in the county is imperative. As noted, one of the goals in the 2035 Santa Rosa Strategic Plan is to “Promote a robust and healthy agriculture sector.”
A few facts:
1. A USDA survey noted that Santa Rosa County has the highest concentration of #1 farm land in not only Florida, but the south eastern United States and possibly the nation
2. Santa Rosa is one of the few counties that does not tap into the aquifer for crop and field irrigation

these people who have no regard for
our way of life. These developers are
taking advantage of people how are
selling off farmland. And these people
moving here, are only bringing what
they are running from with them!
