PROTECT NORTH BAY

There should be no exemption -- the North Bay deserves a full environmental review before the sewer separation project continues. Damage to the bay's sensitive ecosystem, once done, will be irreversible -- we must make sure we don't act irrationally and irresponsibly. Please have a study conducted on the effects of streetwater runoff before proceeding.

Even if the project qualifies as a Type II and is exempt from review why would we choose not to revie? IT'S OUR BAY AND WATERFRONT. LET'S BE SMARTER ABOUT IT THAN THE STATE . Take a walk down your street or alley, oil, gas, paint, plastics, rusting tanks and vehicles, discarded batteries, needles, plastic in every shape and size. The Nitth Bay and River can do without the abuse caused by our poor property management. One truism in Hudson, when there's easy (grant) money in town all the hands come out. For the eyes connected to those hands the less oversight the better. Aldermen and Women do what's right for North Bay and bite to review.

I'm asking the City officials to do the right thing. Please protect our environment in asking for the proper environmental study to be done. We need to protect the North Bay and the Hudson River. These are precious resources and should not be polluted. The whole project should undergo the proper environmental study so please consider that in your decision.

What's the big rush? What possible argument can there be against making a better informed decision?

we should not risk such a serious error and possible injury to the north bay and the hudson river without a clear evaluation of the danger

Check out what the city of Phildelphia is doing to keep water from entering into the sewer system. http://www.phillywatersheds.org/what_were_doing/green_infrastructure/tools
