I feel the cull is inhumane. Surely we can find a way that honours the Life in all. Thank you.

As a keen rambler who lived in the Mendip District for over 50 years I fully support the opposition to the culling of badgers.

The Mendip Hills represent an ever declining natural resource and it is therefore important to all wildlife to do our upmost to preserve it. As badgers are currently under threat, one of a very few indigenous mammals left in the UK, we would ask you for your support.

I visit the Mendips regularly for walking and would be deterred if I knew the local council preferred unscientific ways to mange local wildlife. I also volunteer at a wildlife charity that takes many badgers from the Mendips and in order to return them home they need to be safe from persecution.

Seeing wildlife is part of living in the country! Give farmers help by financing vaccinations. We need to make it a win win situation

Although I currently do not live in your area, we plan to move in the future and hope to enjoy badger watching when we do. Please do not destroy the beauty around you, it belongs to the us, the people.

Vaccination & biosecurity will be effective in the long term - culling is cruel, horrible & ineffective.

The scientific evidence doesn't support a cull. Culling is ineffective, expensive and causes suffering. Vaccination would work and would be cheaper.

Be sensible - vaccinate.
Don't waste taxpayers money on an inhumane and unworkable system. The government has made one massive disaster of the first badger cull, and been 'economical with the truth' and have refused to listen to scientists reports on the matter. Please don't behave in the same irresponsible way that the coalition has and please don't waste the hard earned money of working people on such imbecilic ideas.

Lived in Mendip most of my life. Have watched badgers since childhood. As a tax payer I strongly urge you not to cull Badgers. The scientific evidence that the cull will not work is overwhelming. Listen to this to give the farmers the correct support that they, the public, badgers and cattle deserve.

The Badger vaccine was licenced for good reason please use it & begin taking Badgers out of the circle of what is a cattle disease. Badgers are still cruelly persecuted illegally still today alongside many road kills. 4yrs culling achieving no herd immunity against vaccinating for 4/5yrs building immunity. Culling is not even going to be a quick fix short term. Badgers suited to peace & quiet no disturbance keeping out other Badgers from their homes. They will move if you put danger in their way with culling. Vaccinate please.

The cull is based on farmers predudices. Politicians are trying to appease the farmers and in the process ignoring the mountain of scientific evidence saying a cull is pointless. The trials were an unmitigated disaster, the public are massively against the cull, only very ill informed/ignorant persons would go ahead with the plan. I'm assuming my local representatives do not fall into this category!

Badger culling should be illegal, as it is brutal and inhumane.
