Why is it acceptable now to joke about rape, on social media, with your friends or at work? People don’t joke about terminal illness, such as cancer, or natural disasters because these subjects affect most of the public, it’s an uncomfortable subject for a lot of people. But, 472,000 men and women are affected by rape every year, yet they now have to read and hear comments and jokes about rape every day. Along with 5,000 children that are sexually assaulted every year, growing up in a word that is promoting a vicious and devasting crime.
