The economic conditions have changed and the new reality is that Toronto can choose to privatize their services and get rid of Local 79 and 416 of the Canadian Union of Public Employees. Mayor David Miller has said the city has "no intention of privatizing garbage collection or any of the other services affected by the strike." WHY NOT! Sign here if you believe you have had enough of the Unions and believe they need to offer a competitive contract to private industries.

The city keeps ignoring the message but the frustration is mounting. We are holding them accountable for these costs.

The unions have way too much power. Let someone else do the job for less money. City Hall is completely out of touch with what we pay.

About time. My taxes keep going up and the service is garbage literally. Open it up to competition already.

FINALLY. Sick of the constant strikes holding the whole city hostage every few years.

Privatization is the only way to get these costs under control. We cant keep paying for waste and inefficiency.

It works in other cities why is Toronto so special? Stop protecting the union and start looking at the bottom line for once.
