Prioritize SCAD Upperclassmen in Housing

Respect upperclassmen, stop prioritizing newer students!

SCAD already has a problem with over-admitting freshman, and then not having enough on-campus housing for them to live in because they took in so many. Spots that upperclassman could’ve taken for housing will be given to freshman instead, and then now students who have been here longer won’t have housing or they get waitlisted for extended periods of time. I’m tired of SCAD having priority over freshman and not sharing that same treatment for all their other upper class students too. This new policy for housing will make it harder for upperclassman to obtain housing

Scad shouldnt be allowed to do this to students

With the way SCAD keeps accepting more and more students they are decreasing the quality of their students lives. There is not enough staff, classes, busses and most importantly housing. SCAD has made 30 percent of students scholarship money dependent on living on campus and is now forcing existing students out of housing which will cause them too lose that scholarship money many of them desperately need. Many students can not afford to live off of campus. If you do not have the housing for all of the students you accept, do not accept that many students. Part of the college experience is having a awful dorm but being incentivised to stay by the idea of as you go through the years you get a nicer dorm. SCAD can not continue to put money over quality of it's students lives.

Upperclassman and group ms need priority

SCAD must do better for students who are continuing education here.

We cannot afford to move off campus. Please don’t do this to us.

Seniority should be represented in all work and educational institutions.

As a rising sophomore, this is ridiculous! Just bc they’re Upperclassmen DOES NOT mean they can suddenly afford to pay for off campus housing! Prioritize current students instead of new ones!

Please make your voice heard and known. You deserve to be heard and seen.

It’s ridiculous that this is even an issue. As students we deserve secured housing if we need or want it. SCAD keeps making decisions to earn themselves more money at the expense of the student body and it is disappointing and infuriating too see this happen so frequently. I know the students already hate this, and if the locals don’t already hate us, they will after this drives up prices in the area further. Love the professors and love the students, but I can no longer say I would recommend this school to other people. The devil went down to Georgia and founded SCAD

This is the dumbest thing SCAD has done since last year

If rising sophomores are prioritized and housing fills up to where some seniors cannot get on campus housing, they may not be able to afford living off campus. Especially since campus in both Savannah and in Atlanta ate in more expensive areas. This also is an issue for international students who are unable to live off campus and would be forced to not complete their education. Students might not be able to afford the 30% loss of scholarship that comes with not living on campus and be forced to drop out when they are so close to finishing their studies as well.

Housing should be guaranteed for upper class men!

Please reverse this decision. Upperclassmen finalizing progress towards their careers are no less deserving of housing and no less a crucial part of SCAD's community. Pushing out upperclassmen into off-campus housing will subsequently push out non-SCAD locals who already struggle to live affordably. This decision is harmful and invasive to the city you claim to elevate with your institution.

Throwing us under the bus is ridiculous! Do better SCAD!
