The G Studios is in jeopardy of being coerced to close its doors permanently, causing this community to lose an important landmark for artists and musicians everywhere.Yet for the past 9 years, The G Studios has provided a venue for local artists and musicians to showcase their creativity. It has been a place of hope for visual expression, musical performances, innovative events, diverse workshops, and art classes. It has not only served to promote the creative voices of our community, but supported and provided affordable studio space for artists in need of an inspirational outlet. In 2001, Giovani Hoyos-Corrales had developed this studio from scratch, rebuilding wall structures, creating spaces, a platform for musical performances, and successfully completing all contractors' tasks, while investing his own money into the development of such a needed establishment. He has invested Hundreds of thousands dollars’ worth in hopes to create a foundation for freedom for both successful and emerging artists. Giovani, who had fled Peru in 1990 to escape the government's cruel injustice and stifling of free speech, came to the United States to support the unheard voices of our society, to create a safe heaven for artists through the establishment of The G Studios. However since 2003, the building landlords have been interfering and creating problems with the venue without reason or cause. Their injustice crossed severe boundaries as Giovani suffered through physical harassment and assault. Once again a legal battle ensues to help save The G Studios from shutting down as the landlords refuse to renew the lease without a single reason or cause,after Giovani helped them with all his heart to improve their building in order to make this dream come through . It is now more important than ever to help support and protect the artistic vision upheld by The G Studios. It is time to stand up and rise against this injustice, this mistreatment, this destruction, and save the visionary expression of all artists. Let us please come together to save a place of hope, a place of inspiration and innovation. Let us join together to protect The G Studios, to continue to enhance and promote this art community.
