We, the undersigned residents and concerned members of the Northcote community, formally object to the ongoing disruptive and disrespectful behaviour at 6 Lawry Street. For an extended period, the occupants of this property have caused significant distress to neighbours and passersby through their persistent disregard for community peace and safety.
The issues include:
- An aggressive dog that harasses and frightens pedestrians.
- Loud and disruptive arguments, including frequent late-night and early-morning altercations outside the property.
- Excessive noise at night, including slamming doors, shouting, and the loud disposal of bottles in the early hours.
- Dangerous and disruptive motorbike activity, with the occupants riding loudly up and down the street and back lane at all hours, including overnight.
- An unsightly and cluttered front yard, containing multiple vehicles and abandoned children's equipment, contributing to a neglected streetscape.
- Repeated police visits in response to disturbances at the property.
These ongoing issues have severely impacted the liveability and safety of our neighbourhood. Residents have the right to a peaceful and secure environment, free from persistent noise, intimidation, and unsafe conditions.
We urge the appropriate authorities to take immediate action to address these concerns, enforce community standards, and restore the quality of life for residents in the area.
By signing this petition, we call for an intervention to put an end to the ongoing disturbances at 6 Lawry Street and ensure that all residents can enjoy a safe and respectful neighbourhood.

The constant screaming and use of bad language due to domestic violence make it very difficult to live as neighbours. Children still crying in the middle of the night make this family terrible neighbours. The parking if 3-4 cars in the front yard and an additional large noisy motor bike makes it aesthetically and audio wise disgusting. The noise created by the use of the motor bike at all hours of the night is disruptive to our sleep. Thus quiet neighbourhood has suffered greatly with this family’s unacceptable social behaviour
I am curious to find out as we are looking to move into Lawry St, is this still an ongoing issue? What is the street like?
I don't want to displace this family, however I have strong concerns for the welfare of the children who are seemingly subject to ongoing aggression and threat (at least) of violence. I also am concerned for the mental health of the immediate neighbours who have to bear witness and endure this same threat.
The debris in the ground yard is attracting vermin. I have seen rodents on many occasions. This is utterly disgusting, let alone dangerous!

I feel very strongly about the ongoing disruption caused by the occupants at 6 Lawry st. In addition to what has been described in the petition, I have also felt frightened when I witnessed the occupants walking around their front garden and the public footpath in the nude. Lawry st is full of families with young and teenage children and this behaviour is inappropriate.
