As a student at Milwaukee High School of the Arts, two hours of daily Arts has really shaped my life and who I am as a person. Everyone who is at Arts, have the ability to be unique and build their confidence. If daily Arts is taken away for some students, Milwaukee High School of the Arts will just fall into peices. It will not be a school where students and adults are excited to wake up to. Everyday of creativity and fun through Arts provides us with the time and energy to also boost our academics. Please save our unique school. There so much more good things I can say about Arts. Arts is the school that gave me the voice to up. Please provide two hours of daily Arts to all.

As a parent whose daughter is considering applying to MHSA next year, I am very concerned about staffing decisions that will dilute the arts expertise in the school.

How ludicrous is it to cull art programs from aschool where the main thrust of its being is to encourage students, and guide them into knowledge of a subject that enriches the entire world through their efforts? To me this is just another sign that out civic leaders from the state level down to the most local carry an agenda that holds no interest in our youth. Picture the world without beauty. Imagine what YOUR lives would be without the music, color, and beauty which you hold so dear. Envision a social event that youattend, be it private and exclusive, or public without having a musical piece, a book, a work of art to discuss to make you feel as though you belong. You not only deprive our children, but yourselves of a future of intellectual conversation. Think about it........

As a former MPS art instructor as well as administer, I know how critical art education is to children.

I graduated from this school and my daughter did also. It has always been an excellent school. Let's protect it and our legacy as well.

Itnis imperative to preserve the arts teachers and education at an Arts school. Every student must have the 2 hours of arts classes as promised in the school's mission.

The arts need to be full funded. Our students deserve no less than any other district in this state. It is time to step up and do what is right for our students!!

Art is integrated in every subject. It's critical for knowing how to think outside of the box and come up with new and innovative ideas. I ask that you do the right thing, and NOT cut funding for this program.
