I absolutely loved my high school. I made so many memories here. I was able to learn so much to improve my skills as a visual artist. Thanks to MHSA, I'm doing art professionally.

Milwaukee High School of the Arts gave me a place where I actually felt like I belonged. The arts programming is what motivated me to succeed and show up to school every day. My fellow classmates inspired me with their incredible talents and furthered my abilities as an artist as well. The arts programming at MHSA is what pushed me to believe in myself and find my voice during those very challenging years as a teenager. Without MHSA's two-hour a day arts curriculum I can honestly say I would not be living in Los Angeles as a working actor today. I still think back to my days at MHSA and am so grateful that a school existed with their programming- as someone who constantly felt like an outsider in more traditional school settings, MHSA gave me a place to succeed and build lifelong skills and friendships. Thank you to all of my teachers and classmates! It's time that we start seeing the value of arts education and work towards providing more access to the arts, not less. What a tragedy it would be to lose this programming. Thank you. Sarah Latin-Kasper, class of 2005

I am a former student of MHSA and a teacher who had the honor of bringing refugee students to MHSA to learn orchestra. This school is a gem and a gift to the community. Please keep it intact.

MHSA graduation rate: 88%. Overall MPS graduation rate: 58.2%. What accounts for the difference? The students at Arts WANT TO BE THERE. Why would anyone take away the school's greatest strength?
