The BEST school ever! Especially for those of us who can really only fully express ourself through art/music. This school has changed my life.

I Corrina a former alumni of MHSA strongly feel Arts education should be promoted for future artists. As an alumni this school and the arts staff has helped me grow as an artist in training expanding my knowledge on how to prepare myself for the real world as an actress in training. With MHSA being an arts school it gives the school and students a chance to grow not only as an artist, but as a human being. For myself the theatre at MHSA was a place where I can send a message to the audience and a place I called my home. I'm sure this is also the case for many theatre majors who go to that school. If the arts were stripped from these students I feel the students would not be able to express their creativity through the arts.

I've seen many, many people whose lives were changed by the influence of teachers and fellow students and opportunities provided by the various programs. I met quite a few truly killin' jazz musicians who would definitely not have made much of their talents without those chances. I hope the school can continue to make the impact on people's lives that it has in the past.

There are people who want public education to fail, so they can promote the need for, "for profit private schools".

SAVE THE ARTS. I came from MHSA and music is my career full time. How could you destroy this spirit!? This is very necessary!

MHSA is one of the best memories that I have. I chose and loved the school because of the ability to take 2 band classes each day. My classmates were so passionate about their major, regardless of whether it was visual arts, creative writing, music, dance, or theatre. I have never seen passion like that. This program does so much to inspire passion and provide a positive outlet. Future students need this program preserved, they need to experience that joy, passion and pride in their school.

I wish I would've taken better advantage of what MHSA provided when I was a student. Understand that for many students the extra curriculars like music, visual art, theater, etc (everything MHSA provides) are what gets them excited to go to school in the first place. I'm not going to try and speak for anyone else, but for myself that was largely the reason I showed up to school at all, and kept showing up (even though I graduated a Junior and lost all my scholarship opportunities). This is a great school with a great program, and I'm happy to be a product of such....

There are no limits to the benefits that the arts have given me. As a past student, I can be nothing but grateful and indebted to the transformative powers with which the faculty and the arts have influenced me with. MHSA inspired and helped intellectual growth, not just academic.
