I am for sure i am not the only one that feels this way about the animal control in polk county florida. They need to be held accountable for their actions! They don't scan the chips, i know they put a dog down within a few short hours of them getting it and didn't even scan for a chip, also pitbulls are euthanized very quickly there...and with me being a pitbull mom that hits home very hard! I would be devastated if anything happened to anyone elses fur babies because the stories i hear are horrifying and just down right heartless... Something needs to be done NOW! We can't keep letting this go on...we got to be the animals voices for them... WHO IS WITH ME?

In September I was ejected from my home and my neighbor took my dogs, they kept getting out cuz they wanted to go home, the lady accross the street betty kept calling animal control when they got out and the Sarah L Jackson that crooked got my house. No one cared what they were going through, I couldn't take them with me as I didn't know where I could go. They had 5 dogs as of Sept 12 but now they are not on there lost or strays page anymore. I was told at one time they gave them 5 days to be claimed and then they put them down, a while back when betty had called animal control out cuz she was trapping cats for animal control to pick up they told me they euthize all cats picked up
If their not going to do thier job, they should all be fired. Starting with the administration which is not enforcing their own policies.
I was there one day they were adopting out a Boston terrier the new owners wanted to see how the chip worked so the officer showed them and when she scanned the dog two chips popped up and they had to refuse adoption till owners were notified that right there goes to show they don't check chips and re chip this is out of hand how many chipped dogs have been killed because of laziness or becaus they really don't care how many people are searching for their pets that are probably already dead this has to,stop pets are family
I surrendered a cat in 2008 not knowing AC euthanized animals. I immediately called within 3 hours of surrending the cat to ask them to place a hold on my cat so I could pick him up the next day at 1PM. The lady that answered the phone assured me they would place a hold on my cat. I told her I would be there at 1 PM. I arrived at 1PM only to discover they had euthanized my cat at 8 AM that morning. He hadn't even been there for a full 24 hours and I told them I was coming back for him. They don't care about animals. I filed a formal complaint. One employee was reprimanded and one was fired. AC needs to be more regulated and someone with a little more experience needs to be overseeing this place!
It'a a shame when we the taxpayers can't depend on the public service officials that we pay their salaries...Also, mainly the poor animals they are suppose to be protecting.
Save all precious animals's life from being euthanized. Stop euthanizing dogs!! It is a terrible sin to kill innocent, healthy animals! Just wait until your time is up, Jesus will hold you accountable for killing /euthanizing his precious animals ! Deuteronomy 22:4 " if you see your brother's donkey or bull fall down on the road, you must not deliberately ignore it. You should without fail help him raise the animal up" Proverbs 12:10 "the righteous one takes care of his domestic animals!" *** Due for space or the Shelter is full*** --- Think abt add the dog crate cages, save these dogs's life!!!

Every animal that is brought in should be scanned right away for a microchip!!! How about working with rescue organizations and having adoption events instead of euthanizing them all!
