PMAD Pledge
PMAD, with your help wants to change the conversation in education. To bring about meaningful improvement to our schools we will need to change the conversation in education to one that puts the needs of children before adults. Every decision made, every policy set, and every discussion that is had regarding our children’s education, should answer the question, “How does this put the interests of students first?” We believe: • The responsibility of advocating for students falls on the shoulders of parents and until parents stand up and fulfill that responsibility nothing will change. • Everyone involved in the education of our students must be held accountable for student results. • Every parent should have the information and access to choose excellent schools, either charter or district and have access to meaningful data regarding their options • Parents should have the power to leave a failing school or stay and transform it through a parent trigger law. • We must ensure that our valuable tax dollars are spent in the classroom. • Great teachers are the heroes in the American education system; all students deserve access to great teachers and great schools. • Teachers deserve excellent training and should be encouraged and rewarded through an evaluation and compensation system based on teachers’ impact on their students.
