We, the parents, teachers, and students of Miami-Dade Public Schools, are uniting to affect positive change for our schools, teachers, and most importantly, our children. Strong, well-funded public schools are the cornerstone of our communities and improve the quality of life for all Florida residents. We find current State funding of education inadequate to maintain quality public education. Florida schools have demonstrated accountability and are currently rated fifth in the nation for test scores. We are rated last in only in the area of funding. As voting constituents, we demand our legislators honor our children’s constitutional right to have a "free and appropriate" education by restoring funding to public schools. We ask that legislators re-prioritize public education. As an inspired parents, teachers, and students, we pledge to make sure all students continue to receive the excellent education they deserve. We believe in putting our future citizens first by providing public schools with the right tools to succeed.
