Dear Mr. & Mrs. G,

First, we, the past and present members of ABP Club, want to thank you for the decades of family fun and memories you have enabled because of your dedication and commitment to that magical place.  You have touched so many lives in so many ways - both known and unbeknownst.  The beloved club has been a summer home away from home, a haven for like-minded families, where children ran free, parents relaxed, teens had a safe hangout, where lifelong friendships (and a few loves) were found, and so much more.

We know your decision to close the club was not arrived at easily or quickly.  But perhaps, had you known how much support there was for a smaller, down-sized club, and the existence of volunteers willing to help that vision happen, you might not have made that choice.

With this letter, we implore you to reconsider ABP's fate.  We also pledge our support and hands-on help to resurrect the club.  We vow to come with our own shovels, hammers, wheelbarrows, wrenches, paint brushes, cement trowels, and anything else, plus lots of elbow grease, to turn our wildest hope into a reality.

The fact is, losing ABP is like losing a friend.  ABP is not a place, so it's not likely to be rePLACEd.  You can't fill a gaping hole like that with just any other club, or even a pool of one's own, or a boat... ABP is a family, a community.  Let us show you how much of a family  we are.  Families help each other in tough times.  Let us help you rebuild and bring ABP back!

With much respect, gratitude and hope,

So many memories there. It would be a tragedy to lose such a special community spot. Count me in for any repairs needed.

Just tell us what to do and we will show up. Keep the place running. It means way too much to the neighborhood.
