In 2021-22 the Compton and Inwood community raised enough money to replace one tree lost to Dutch Elm Disease.
We have now raised £1800 towards a second tree. We need evidence of Compton and Inwood resident's support in order to get council support and apply for match funding from CPRE Sussex. The tree will be positioned in the same spot or close to one of the felled trees so there may be minor reduction in parking of no more than 1m. The cost is to dig out the old stump and roots, protect the pipeworks and rebuild the kerb and pavement.

I am currently finishing the formal application for match funding to present to the council. Please text three neighbors this link to keep our momentum strong while I finalize the documentation for our site.

We hit our stride and the council is finally paying attention to our request for new trees. Take this momentum and call your local councillor right now to demand they approve the funding. Post this link on your personal Facebook page and text the link to three of your neighbors.

ignore the people moaning about parking. we need more trees not more spaces for cars. do it!!
Yes please! The loss of those trees made the whole area look miserable. Get them back in.
My kids walk past this spot every single day. A new tree would make such a difference for them.

The streets look so empty without them. Really hope we can get some green back in the neighborhood soon.
