作为旅居海外的中国人，我们真诚关心国内的社会民生，认为政治是人性的自由尊严的存在的表达，我们希望中国社会走向真实的文明和法治。我们非常痛心许志永先生因为身体力行中国宪法所赋予的公民自由权利呼吁官员财产公开而被判刑。我们钦佩他推动教育平权的踏实理性而有效的努力，并认为他的组织工作无可指摘。为了我们血浓于水的共同的自由和未来，请释放许志永。

To the Government of People's Republic of China, and the Chinese National People's Congress:

As overseas Chinese, we sincerely and deeply care about our homeland and believe that politics is the expression of humanity in freedom and dignity. We want our mother country to be a land of justice in civilization. We are grieved to hear the conviction of Mr. Xu Zhi-Yong for exercising the civic right of expression (advocating fiscal transparency of the government officials), a right provided for all Chinese citizens under the nation's own constitution. We also admire Mr. Xu's peaceful and down-to-earth efforts that had helped bring equal right to education to millions of children of the country's migrant workers. We think his advocacy and organization is impeccable and he is innocent. For our future in freedom and for the sake of our common blood thicker than water, we urge the release of Mr. Xu Zhi-Yong.
